When I signed up for the 5K, I thought...this will be easy and it’ll be motivation for me to consistently run and workout. Ha. That’s funny. I started really well and ran for about 3 weeks straight. I had gotten myself up to running about 8 minutes at a time. And then life happened and I ran about 3 times over the next 6 months. When race day arrived, I had run twice in the last month. Yep...not exactly stellar training. So my goal of “run the whole 5K” quickly changed to “run as much as you can and simply get to the finish line.” Mission accomplished!
The Lord blessed us with perfect weather...a cool 70˚ and clouds. We even got a couple raindrops at the end. My sisters were rock stars and finished ahead of me by a couple minutes. While I maybe didn’t RUN the whole 5K, I consider completing a good check mark on this bucket list item. Maybe down the line I’ll try again, but for now, I’m pretty happy with it.
And seriously...who doesn’t love getting a shiny medal at the end?
