Ever wonder how they get furniture in and out of these tall apartment buildings? I did until I saw this machine. I guess it's a pretty new thing around here because some of the local people were so amazed when they saw it. But hey...I'll take this over hauling huge furniture up little staircases. PIVOT!!!!
I have had quite the stressful, emotional week. We are preparing for a big conference and the last minute details always feel overwhelming. On a day that I felt stressed beyond belief, I came home to a sweet surprise - a chocolate glazed (with chocolate chips) donut. And let me tell you it was melt-in-your-mouth amazingness! I have no clue where this donut place is, but I'm thinking that's a good thing. I would be eating there all too frequently!
The last few days here have been a holiday for the majority faith. You can see my post about it from last year (Nov 6, 2011). Well, one of the ways they earn heaven points is by slaughtering an animal (sheep or cow) and giving the meat to the poor during this holiday.
I was surprised (and completely grossed out) when my neighbor knocked on the door and gave me a plastic grocery bag full of raw meat. I have NEVER held meat that fresh. I have no idea what animal it comes from or what to do with it. But more than all of that, my heart just breaks to know they think this will affect their eternity. Oh that the Lord would pierce the darkness and shine is beauty and truth into their lives.
